After the successful release of the first series Kamen Rider V3 (1973), the Popy offers the Kamen Rider X in 1974. Compared to previous version V3, X is a rarer version from a collector's point of view, this is because they were printed less copies. The two versions are very similar. The major differences are noted in coloring; Green, red, white and blue for the V3, red, light blue and blue for version x. Another detail is located in the hands, while in version V3 there is no hole, because the lack of accessories-weapons, in version X instead there are small holes that were used to house the rope/sword/stick. The characteristic is black scarf and tied around the neck (not so the two hooks above the shoulders as the previous version). As well as the V3 is the transposition of the grasshopper, Kamen television X is faithful to the original and shows blue and red colour of the character of a hero who became as a result of a clash. Very interesting, in my opinion, is the Mexican version of Aquaman, Jugarama brighter colored and slightly reduced in size.
While maintaining the features from grasshopper, in this version no longer antennae and extendable telescopic as V3, but fixed. The body is pretty well and attach the leg appears smoother than conventional jumbo – robot. As for the V3 also here adhesives, moreover, represent the largest silver obstacle for any collector who want original pieces, and these stickers placed on rounded surfaces, tend to rise over time and then find versions with stickers intact is increasingly difficult.
The limbs are not shooting but replaced by Popy series accessories. The focus is therefore on the belt which has a perverse attachment mechanism on the back making it difficult opening: a first catch is represented by pin housing into the holes of the seat belt, the second and more difficult is the side blocking serrations in the lateral teeth also the remainder. Add to this the fact that the entire part is embedded between the torso and the hips, so the work space is rather limited. Proof of this is that often the belt is missing or present with the perforation folded side. On the front side and accommodate sheet belt plates, which originally were shiny and adorned. With the passage of time tend to oxidize and, what is more serious, to rust.
Finally, a hint on boots; the hook is tightened by a screw which could have found better allocation if it had been received by a notch, as was done for other versions Popy.
