Molto simile al Jumbo Popy, il Gaiking è stato realizzato su licenza dall’ azienda Giapponese Unifive nell’ anno 2000, ed è stato il quarto jumbo della serie ad essere prodotto.

Prima di lui erano stati realizzati il Mazinger Z, il Great Mazinger e il Garada K7, purtroppo poco dopo l’uscita del Gaiking, l’ Unifive dichiarò fallimento e l’ultimo progetto, forse quello più ambizioso, non venne più sviluppato. Un vero peccato perché si trattava della produzione del Combattler Jumbo.
Diciamo che tra tutti i Machinder realizzati, il Gaiking è sicuramente uno dei più accessoriati ed elaborati.
Misura un altezza di 60 cm per 25 cm di larghezza.
La sua testa è molto dettagliata e colorata perfettamente, questa può essere inserita nel busto grazie ad un innesto a tappo, che gli permette una successiva trasformazione nel drago Daiku Maryu.

Il braccio destro è il classico arto sparante dei Popy, mentre il sinistro è smontabile ma non può essere sparato.

Nella parte anteriore del busto è collocata una maschera gialla che ricorda le sembianze del Daiku Maryu, questa può essere alzata e abbassata grazie ad una piccola cerniera a cilindro.

Al suo interno oltre ad un supporto reggi missili, troviamo due postazioni spara missili, bloccate al busto tramite 4 viti.
L'espulsione dei missili avviene grazie ad una piccola leva situata accanto al meccanismo a molla.

Nella parte posteriore del busto, oltre al marchio di fabbrica Unifive, troviamo una piastra che serve ad ancorare le ali rosse.

Il Gaiking veniva fornito di due corna gialle supplementari che potevano essere inserite al posto delle spalle in fase di trasformazione Daiku Maryu.

La scatola è bella, ma non esaltante, secondo il mio parere le scritte potevano essere più piccole e la figura del robot più grande, non mi piace per niente lo sfondo blu scuro, non mette in risalto il robot.
